Year in Review 2015: 5 Best Female Characters
2015 was certainly an eventful year for gaming, there was a lot that got us here at Elite Gamer excited! This also marks another year of strong female roles. I have collected a few of our favourites from games this year! [tps_title]

5 - Evie - Assassins Creed: Syndicate

Evie-Assassins Creed Evie is a revolutionary character in the Assassins Creed series and marks the first playable character since its introduction way back in 2007. [tps_title]

4 - Piper - Fallout 4

Piper-Fallout-4 Piper is the first companion many players will encounter while playing Fallout 4. Piper is a charismatic, fast-talking young woman who can be found in Diamond City; a settlement within the confines of what once was Boston's famous Fenway Park. Her tendancy to publish the unfiltered truth often gets her in trouble with her fellow citizens. This is one of the reasons why she is such an interesting character, she's an activist; albeit a shy and disclosed one. Piper is not your typical companion, Bethesda have given her a wealth of character making any journey with here the more interesting. Check out our review of Fallout 4 here. [tps_title]

3 - Fiona - Tales from the Borderlands

Fiona-Tales-from-the-Borderlands Fiona (Voiced by Laura Bailey) is the perfect companion for the playable character Rhys. She has a very tough exterior but as the story develops you see that she is indeed very insecure and uses her tough exterior as a shell to keep people from getting in. Fiona spends much of her life getting taken advantage of those close to her. When Fiona fist meets Rhys she expects the same thing and it's only until the end does Rhys earn her trust enough for her to let him in. [tps_title]

2 - Chloe - Life is Strange

Chloe-Life-is-Strange Chloe is definitely the teen-angst rebellious teen of 2015! Much of this stems from the hatred she has towards her new step-father, who also happens to be head of security at her school. Over the course of the episodic series of Life is Strange you get to see Chloe reveal many insecurities to Max that she has kept hidden from everybody else. [tps_title]

1 - Lara Croft - Rise of the Tomb Raider

lara-croft-rise-of-the-tomb-raider Lara Croft made a huge impression when she re-surfaced in the Tomb Raider reboot released in 2013. The Lara Croft you were sold was not the tough "Angelina Jolie" warrior but a more realistic, genuine portrayal of a young woman struggling to survive while ensuring the safety of her family. Lara has gone through amazing transformation across the two games and the character development is some of the best I've seen in any game in a long time. While playing as Lara you form a personal attachment as she overcomes various challenges and encounters and it's a great feeling to be able to witness all that change first hand.
